(Lead Vocals/Show Producer)
Lisa McClowry is a life-long SINGER/ENTERTAINER with over 30 years in the entertainment industry as a trusted, reliable source and talent. Lisa is continually described by her peers as a visionary, a trailblazer, creative and business minded all-in-one, and an exemplary leader and team player.
In January, 2016, Lisa made an official shift in her music career from “recording artist”, supporting her original music CD releases, touring and live performances to currently developing live theme-based shows/concerts which she produces and performs.
Her series of show releases began in July, 2015, with her “Lisa McClowry Rock the 80s” Show. The brand new venture has allowed Lisa to use her background in songwriting, theater and dance, weaving her music related skills into the live shows/concerts which she now offers and performs. In addition, these performances showcase her knack for creating unique moments on stage, her warmth, essence, dynamic voice and strong stage presence. These are just a few of the words her audience has used to describe what makes Lisa’s performances so captivating and engaging.
Passion, drive and commitment have been the backbone to Lisa’s success paving her years of experience as an “on stage” talent. What might come as a surprise to some, Lisa enjoys having her hand in every aspect of her shows. As the Live Music Producer for her current shows, she does everything from auditioning dancers, running band and dance rehearsals, scheduling for all involved with the show on and off stage, working creatively with musicians, singers, chart writers and arrangers, finding and recruiting new talent, choosing the shows songs and format, costuming, designing most of the shows music medleys, working with the lighting, video and sound design team, overseeing the budget, and working directly with the client.

MEET THE DANCERS
Chris Zarate has been growing in his passion for dancing since the young age of three, thanks to a video tape of Michael Jackson that he would watch and imitate every day. A self-taught dancer, he would have his first break being the opening act for the B96 “B-Bash” when he was 12 with two other fellow performers. He would further expand his knowledge of performance and dancing by joining the elite hip hop group known as Hip Hop Connxion. It was with this group that he would later compete at the 2006 World Hip Hop Championships and placed 4th in the world for Hip Hop dancing. Throughout his later years, he would begin touring the country while joining other groups such as Design, CODA, and Puzzle League who made their own significant marks in the Chicago dance community as well as across the nation. He would later come back to the World Hip Hop Championships, this time making history as Co-Director for Chicago’s very first MegaCrew to be presented at the championships. Today, Chris continues to teach at various studios throughout Illinois with hope of bringing his knowledge to the next generation of dancers and performers. “Remember the reason why you dance – it’s our freedom of full expression and let that bring you joy every day.” – Chris Zarate
Dance has been a lifelong passion since the early age of nine. Now a wife, mother of three and a professional dance instructor of popular styles, Griselda takes great pride in teaching, inspiring and motivating others to be their best and to stay in shape. Griselda joined the “Rock the 80s” team in 2015 by chance when Lisa McClowry stepped into Griselda’s dance class preparing for her upcoming “Rock the 80s” show series. Lisa was so impressed with Griselda’s energy and flair for leading, that she approached her after class and invited Griselda to audition for Lisa’s “Rock the 80s” dance team. After the first audition, it was clear Griselda was meant for the team and she was hired on the spot. Today, Griselda considers her fellow “Rock the 80s” dancers “family” and believes the key to being a great dancer is not simply technique, but the passion delivered in the dance.
Max started his dancing career at the age of three at the Blackbird Academy after seeing Irish Tap dancers perform at a benefit. After a year of Irish Tap, he continued his career by exploring other forms of dance. He excelled in all the styles of dance he tried, however, his real love was Hip Hop and still is to this day. He has achieved multiple awards including “Dancer of the Year” twice with ADA, “Performer of Excellence Preteen” with Midwest Starz, and he was chosen to be on the USA Hip Hop team in 2010. Since then, he has trained with various teams and choreographers and enjoys performing duos with his little sister,Gia, who is also a dancer and member of the “Rock the 80s” family. With his unique style, passion, and stage presence, Max continues to push the boundaries of dance and has a lot of fun doing it. Max became part of the “Lisa McClowry’s Rock the 80s” cast in 2015. He and Gia are the two main dancers featured in the “Michael Jackson” segment, one of the shows highlights.
Gia started dancing at the age of three, beginning with ballet and lyrical – she was always smiling and having fun. When she turned eight, she started her Hip Hop career performing solos and her first duo with her brother, Max. After dancing at various studios and studying with different choreographers, she was chosen to be on the USA Hip Hop team in 2010. She still performs competitively in solo, small groups, large groups and Hip Hop, in addition to the duos with her big brother, Max. In the summer of 2015, Gia met Lisa McClowry and brought her love of dance and music to the stage as a backup dancer for Lisa.
Danyé found a love for dancing at the age of five. Studying ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, lyrical, and modern, she transformed a recreational activity into a true passion. She’s received multiple scholarships, awards, and honors from dance conventions and competitions, including The Pulse and Artist Simply Human and has performed with Deeply Rooted Dance Theater and International Vocalist of the Year Nominee Lisa McClowry. Danyé is currently finding an additional love in choreography and is enjoying the many opportunities to share her gifts and passion with others.
Chris Selefski was born to perform. His natural ability to dance, sing, act and connect with others led him first to the musical theater stage. Soon after, his love and commitment to dance would be the driving force that drove him into formal training in Hip-Hop, Jazz, Ballet and Swing. Always striving to better himself, Chris continues his dance training in weekly classes to stay competitive and fit for the stage. Chinese philosopher, Confucius, once said, “Find a job you love, and you will never work a day in your life.” Chris has adopted this philosophy and believes this is the vehicle to true happiness. He is overjoyed to share his energy and experience with Lisa McClowry whom he calls “incredibly talented.”
